Duur afhankelijk van kliniek. Er zijn aanwijzingen dat 4 dagen antibiotische behandeling na het bereiken van source control voldoende is.
Overwegen aminoglycoside te continueren totdat kweek bekend is, met inachtneming van nierfunctie en spiegelbepalingen.
