General comments

Bij de verdenking op een septische bursitis, verricht ook een aspiratie ter differentiatie met niet-infectieuze oorzaken (o.a. jicht).

Start bij een vermoeden van een septische bursitis de behandeling zo snel mogelijk. Overweeg altijd vroegtijdige incisie en drainage met afname van peroperatieve kweken.
