General comments
Infectie is zelflimiterend in immuuncompetente patiënten, maar door mogelijk langdurig aanhouden van de klachten is behandeling geïndiceerd.
Bij immuungecompromitteerden (o.a. bij HIV zolang CD4 getal <200 x 106/l): secundaire profylaxe met cotrimoxazol 1dd 480mg p.o. of ciprofloxacine 3x/week 500mg po.
