General comments
Bij heupfracturen, implantaten en ingrepen wervelkolom: bij bekende S. aureus-dragers wordt aangeraden mupirocine-neuszalf toe te voegen
Indien BMI>35 cefazoline dosering ophogen naar 3gram 1ste gift, cefuroxim dosering naar 3000mg 1ste gift en clindamycine dosering naar 900mg 1e gift
Antibioticum pas toedienen na afname van kweken bij verdenking infectie. Geen wonduitstrijken, tenminste 4 diepe kweken met schone instrumenten.

Schone ingrepen zonder implantatie van prothesen of andere vreemde lichamen: geen profylaxe
